Chaparral Pointe Condos is a 3-story apartment building located at 428 Chaparral Ravine View Southeast, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building opened in 2006, and the fire alarm system is original with the exception of one notification appliance. The system is serviced by JAS Electric.

FACP

The building is protected by a Mircom FX-2000 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Mircom's CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances

All common area notification appliances are Mircom "Select-A-Horn/Strobe" FHS-240R horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to broadband/15cd). The suites have Mircom MH-S25WA silenceable mini-horns (white, wall-mount) in each bedroom. One unit has a System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" MHWZA silenceable mini-horn (white, wall-mount) as a deficiency replacement.

All pull stations are Mircom MS-401AD addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Mircom MIX-2251B addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the common areas, mounted on System Sensor B710LPA low-profile bases.

Known Activations

April 2017 - smoke detector near unit 324 activated due to tenant burning toast. The system worked like it was supposed to, but many residents did not evacuate.
