Hudson's Bay is a Canadian department store chain. This particular store is located at 200 8 Avenue Southwest, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This is the flagship store for the City of Calgary. The store opened in 1913, and has been renovated several times. The fire alarm system was installed in the 2000s. The notification appliances remain from the previous system.

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the 7th Avenue entrance vestibule. This panel replaced a Simplex 4100U. The system runs Simplex's IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is likely temporal.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are Wheelock MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes (10" gong, 1.5cd). The third floor has a Cerberus Pyrotronics MBDC-10-C motor bell (10" gong) as a deficiency replacement. The second floor has a Simplex 2901-9724 motor bell (10" gong) mounted on a Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plate (set to 15cd) as a deficiency replacement. The first floor has a Wheelock MB-G10-24 motor bell (10" gong) mounted on a Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plate (set to 15cd) as a deficiency replacement.

All pull stations but one are Simplex 4099-9001 addressable single-action pull stations. There is one Simplex 4099-9004 addressable single-action pull station as a deficiency replacement.

There are Simplex "TrueAlarm" 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in some areas, mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 addressable bases.
