Walmart is a large chain of supermarkets headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas, USA. This particular store is located at 5005 Northland Drive Northwest, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building opened in 1971 as Woolco, and was converted into Walmart in 1994 when Woolco went out of business. The store underwent a 13.4 million dollar renovation in 2021. The fire alarm system was installed in 2021, following the renovation and the system was also installed because the mall is being converted to an outdoor shopping centre.

System Specifications (2021-present)

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards EST3X addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs EST’s Signature-series addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

All audible/visual notification appliances are Edwards “Genesis” G1AVRF horn/strobes (red, wall-mount). The storefront has Edwards G1VRF remote strobes (red, wall-mount) in addition to the aforementioned horn/strobes. These devices are mounted on poles throughout the store, with two horn/strobes and two remote strobes facing opposite directions.

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

The building is equipped with a sprinkler system, and there are no detectors in the storefront.

There is likely an EST SIGA-CT2 dual-monitor module monitoring the sprinkler system.
