The Olympic Oval is a multipurpose ice arena. It gets its name from its original purpose, which was to host the 1988 olympics' speed skating championships. It is located on the campus of the University of Calgary, and has a speed skating track, along with 2 enclosed hockey surfaces. It opened in 1987, and was the first covered speed skating track in North America.

System Specifications

FACP

The facility is protected by a Simplex 4100U fire alarm control panel. It was installed in the early 2000s, and likely replaced a Simplex 2120, judging by the neighboring building's panel being a 2120. It has voice evac capabilities, and likely does slow whoop and the default male message.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances for the fire alarm system are Simplex 2902-9734 speakers. There are no visual signals.

Initiating Devices

Manual Activation Devices

The pull stations are Simplex 4251-20s. They're also known as "T-bars" due to their distinct T-shaped handle. There are possibly some newer Simplex 2099/4099 pull stations, however this is unconfirmed.

Automatic Detection Devices

None confirmed.
