The facility is protected by a Simplex 4100U addressable fire alarm control panel.  It was installed in around 2001-2010, and likely replaced a Simplex 2120, judging by the neighboring building's fire panel being a 2120.  It has voice evac capabilities, and likely does slow whoop and the default male message. Although the system is addressable, the system is not really set up in an addressable manner.

The Olympic Oval is a multipurpose ice arena best known for speed skating. It gets its name from its original purpose, which was to host the 1988 Winter Olympics. It is located on the campus of the University of Calgary, and has a speed skating track, along with 2 enclosed hockey surfaces. It was built in and opened in 1987, and was the first covered speed skating track in North America. Most of the system is original, except for the fire panel and the strobes installed later. The system is very similar to Kinesiology B.

Notification Appliances

The main notification appliances are the original Simplex "LifeAlarm" 2902-9734 flush-mount speakers. The second level has Wheelock RSS-24MCW (red, wall) remote strobes for visual coverage as well as the Simplex speakers, installed when the 4100U was installed.
Fun Fact: Did you know that some buildings use fire alarm signals as door alarms? For example, the Olympic Oval uses Simplex 2901-9834 mechanical horns, original to the building. These horns are NOT on the 4100U system.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All of the pull stations seen so far are Simplex 4251-20, which are original. There are possibly some replacement Simplex 2099-9754/4099-9001 pull stations, however this is unconfirmed.

Automatic Detection Devices

None confirmed.
