The fire alarm control panel is a Simplex 4100U, installed somewhere around 2005-2010, most likely replacing an EST ESA2000 or 6632 from 1996. Despite the 4100U being addressable, it is set up in a non-addressable manner. The panel is located behind the front desk.

The notification appliances seen throughout the hotel's lobby and hallways are Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells on EST "Integrity" 403-5A-R strobe plates. The pool area has an Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bell on an EST 403-5A-R strobe plate, due to louder ambient noise levels. The rooms have EST 692-5A-103 mini-horn/strobes. The workout room has an upside down Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bell with no strobe plate. All of the notification appliances were left over from the EST system.

Canmore Inn & Suites is a 3-star hotel located at 1402 Bow Valley Trail, Canmore, AB. It was built in 1996, and everything except for the fire alarm panel seems to be original. This hotel was previously known as Ramada until around 2016-17.

System Specifications (2021 present)

FACP

The building is protected by a Notifier NFS2-640C conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the lobby, and has an NCA-2 display. The system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances

All common area notification appliances are System Sensor "L-Series" HRLA horns (red, wall-mount) horns on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plates (red, set to 15cd). The guest rooms contain EST 964-3A-103 mini-horn/strobes (white, 30cd), these remained from the previous system.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional pull stations. These were kept from the original system.

Automatic Detection Devices

All smoke detecors are System Sensor "i3" C2W-BA photoelectric smoke detectors, which also remained. There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.

Former System Specifications (1996-2021)

FACP

The hotel was protected by a Simplex 4100U conventional fire alarm system. The panel was located in the lobby, and replaced the original EST ESA2000 around 2006. The system coding was likely continuous.

Notification Appliances

All common area notification appliances were Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells (6" gong) on EST "Integrity" 403-5A-R strobe plates (red, 15cd). The workout room had the aforementioned bell installed remotely. The pool area had an Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bell (10" gong) on an EST 403-5A-R strobe plate, due to higher ambient noise levels. The guest rooms contained EST 692-3A-103 mini-horn/strobes (white, 30cd), these are still in service.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations were Edwards 270-SPO conventional pull stations; these remain on the current system.

Automatic Detection Devices

All smoke detectors are System Sensor C2W-BA photoelectric smoke detectors, these are still installed.
