First Tower is a high-rise office building located at 411 1 Street Southeast, in Downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The tower opened in 1981, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in the 2010s.

FACP

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm system. The system is a large network with many panels, however the main nodes are likely located in a CACF room. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The system is configured for two-stage operation. The first stage alert signal is a 20BPM chime tone, followed by slow whoop in general alarm.

Modules

There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches. There are also Simplex 4090-9002 addressable relay modules controlling fire doors, dampers, fan shutdowns, and other systems. [[]
