Hudson's Bay is a Canadian department store chain. This particular store is located at 200 8 Avenue Southwest, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This is the flagship store for the City of Calgary. The store opened in 1913, and has been renovated several times, notably in 1993. The fire alarm system was installed in the 2000s. The notification appliances remain from the previous system.

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the 7th Avenue entrance vestibule. It is in a Simplex 4100U cabinet. The system runs Simplex's IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is likely temporal.
The 4100ES replaced a Simplex 4100U in 2018.
Notification Appliances
Most notification appliances are Wheelock MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes (10" gong, 1.5cd), these were installed in the 1993 renovation.
The third floor has a Cerberus Pyrotronics BMD-1024C vibrating bell (10" gong) left over from the system prior to that renovation.
The second floor has a Simplex 2901-9724 motor bell (10" gong) mounted on a Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plate (set to 15cd) as a deficiency replacement.
The first floor has a Wheelock MB-G10-24 motor bell (10" gong) mounted on a Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plate (set to 15cd) as a deficiency replacement.

Automatic Detection Devices
There are Simplex "TrueAlarm" 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in some areas, mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases. There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.
Modules
There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
