Southgate Centre is a shopping mall located at 5015 111 Street Northwest, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The mall opened in 1970, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in 2009.

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The main panel is located in the security office, with a node in the TD Bank vestibule. The system runs EST’s Signature addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The system is configured for two-stage operation, however the messages and/or tones are unknown at this time.

Annunciators

There is an Edwards EST3-6ANN annunciator in the north entrance vestibule.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are a mix of Edwards 965-5A-8RW speaker/strobes (white, wall-mount, 70V, 15cd) and Edwards 965-1A-8RW remote speakers (white, wall-mount, 70V).

Some areas have Edwards “Genesis” GCSVWN speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 70V/15cd).

UNIQLO (2023) has Edwards GCSVWF speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, FIRE marking, set to 15cd) and Edwards GCSWF speakers (white, ceiling-mount, FIRE marking).

For outdoor notification, there are Wheelock ET-1010W weatherproof remote speakers (white, wall-mount) in some areas.

Most tenants do not have notification appliances.

Most pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.

Some areas have Edwards 270-GAO conventional two-stage single-action pull stations, likely wired to SIGA-CT2 dual input modules.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in some areas, mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases.

Modules

There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
