Walmart is a retail outlet chain. This specific location is in Royal Oak in NW calgary. It was built in 2003, but the fire alarm system is not original, it was upgraded this year in January. Most of the notification appliances are original.
System Specifications
FACP
The fire alarm panel is a brand new Simplex 4007ES. It was installed in 2021 as the replacement panel for the original EST QuickStart QS1. The cause of the replacement is unknown, but the permit issued for this was "fire alarm upgrades". The panel is located right at the entrance.
Notification Appliances
The notification appliances were kept from the original fire alarm system. They are a mix of EST "Genesis" G1R-HDVM (red, wall, no FIRE) horn/strobes and EST "Genesis" G1R-V75 (red, wall, no FIRE) remote strobes. Usually there are two horn/strobes and two remote strobes on each opposite side of a pole, though some are on walls. Some have the EST logo and some do not. The McDonald's has a G1R-HDVM installed in 2019 after the remodel, but it's upside down. Most of the notification appliances are original to the store.

Pull Stations
The pull stations were all EST SIGA-270 addressable pull stations. Most were original from 2003, but there were two from 2011-2013 (EST/GE). These pull stations were replaced when the system was upgraded due to not being compatible with the 4007ES.
Automatic Detection Devices
All smoke detectors were EST SIGA-PS photoelectric addressable smoke detectors, original from 2003. These were replaced due to not being compatible with Simplex.
