Secure Buildings Policy

From FireAlarmPedia
Revision as of 17:24, 26 June 2025 by Twentytwo22 (talk | contribs)

Fire Alarmpedia encourages our members to contribute any facilities they wish to. However, in order to ensure the safety, security, and legal integrity of Fire Alarmpedia, certain facilities are prohibited from being added to the Wiki. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Police Stations
  • Courthouses
  • Military Buildings (includes buildings located ON military bases)
  • Datacentres with Restricted Access
  • Private Residences (Single-family homes, does not include apartments or health services) (not a secure building)
  • Legal Facilities
  • Prisons/Jails/Correctional Facilities
  • High-Security Buildings
  • Government Facilities with Secure Tenants
  • Mental Institutions
  • Any Facility subject to Non-Disclosure Agreements for Visitors

Failure to comply with this policy will result in account restrictions or permanent deletion, at the discretion of Fire Alarmpedia staff. If you are not sure if a building is acceptable to add, feel free to ask a staff member - we are happy to help!

ADDENDUM:

Information on Secure buildings may be posted on Firealarmpedia only under our Secure Building Information Availability Program.

A code is assigned by staff to a secure building and must be used as the name of the page i.e. ("Secure Bulding - SB00001")

Any information that may expose the identity of the building must be omitted.

The purpose of this program is to allow system specifications to be archived and documented without publically exposing the identity of the building.

Technicians that may work on said system can provide Firealarmpedia proof that they are a licenced contractor working on the fire alarm system in that building and they will be provided with the corresponding code for that site if we have that page.
