Cochrane Arena is an ice hockey arena in the town of Cochrane, AB. It is adjacent to Cochrane High School, in Cochrane Heights. It is the original arena in Cochrane, and was built in 1960. The building does not have its original system, but some pull stations and one bell is original to the current system. The system is very interesting in notification appliances.
System Specifications
FACP
The fire alarm panel is an Edwards 2280 installed in 1990, but it is not original. The system has had a few modifications since then, but the fire panel still remains. The annunciator is right at the front entrance, but the FACP itself is not visible - it's in some electrical room. Since there is no coding options for the 2280, the system does continuous.
Notification Appliances
The notification appliances vary. There is an Edwards 6100D 6 inch "Durabel" vibrating bell in the lobby, and it is original to the 2800 system. It has the 1970s-80s Edwards logo, so it may be from 1989 or early 1990. It is the only one there, as all the others were replaced. In the arena itself, there is a Wheelock MB-G6-24 motor bell, replacing a Durabel that was no longer functioning before 2007. The hallways to the dressing rooms, however, have EST Genesis G1R-HDVM (red, wall, no FIRE) horn/strobes on trim plates. Why they are there is unknown, possibly the Durabels were not loud enough. The Wheelock bell and the EST horn/strobes have round outlines behind them, revealing that there were Durabels there before. The horn/strobes probably do code 3 while the bells do continuous.

Pull Stations
The main pull stations are 1990s generation Edwards 270-SPO. There are still lots intact, although some were replaced. Several of them were replaced with Mircom MS-401 pull stations with both the current and older Mircom logos. There are is one Notifier NFM-950B pull station at the entrance under the annunciator. There is a Notifier MPS-950B in an exit in the main arena as a replacement as well.
Automatic Detection Devices
Smoke detectors seen throughout are Edwards EC30U-3 photoelectric smoke detectors.
