Royal Tyrrell Museum

From FireAlarmPedia

Royal Tyrrell Museum is a paleontology and dinosaur museum in Drumheller. It is also Canada's only museum that is only for prehistoric life. The museum is also a big tourist attraction for Alberta. It was built in 1985, but has had its current fire alarm system since 2016 after an expansion.

FACP

The fire alarm panel is an EST3, installed in 2016. It replaced a Siemens MXL system from 2003. This system, unlike the MXL, is not two-stage. The panel is at the front entrance, and has had two supervisories in July 2019.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances seen throughout the museum are EST "Genesis" G1R-HDVM (red, wall, no FIRE) horn/strobes on G1RT-FIRE (FIRE lettering) trim plates. They replaced Siemens U-MMT-MCS-W-B horn/strobes. In the "Cretaceous Gardens", there are EST WG4RN-HVMC (red, no FIRE) horn/strobes. For outdoor notification, there is an EST CS405-7A-T "Integrity" weatherproof strobe. There is also an Edwards 340D Adaptabel from 1985 under it, but it hasn't been in use for a while. It was part of the original system.
