Holiday Inn Express is a large budget hotel chain owned by IHG hotels. They are headquartered in Denham, England. This particular hotel is located in Red Deer, Alberta. It opened its doors in 1979, and was renovated in 2015. The fire alarm system is from about 1998.

System Specifications

The hotel is protected by a Fire-Lite Sensiscan 2000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located at the main entrance. The system likely does continuous in alarm.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Wheelock MB-G6-24 motor bells (6” gong) on Wheelock RSSP-2415W-FR strobe plates (15cd). The strobes are not synchronized, as the panel has no sync capabilities. There are no notification appliances in the rooms.

Bonus Information

According to a TripAdvisor review, in January 2011 the fire alarm was falsely activated one night at 10:30 pm by teens who were acting up. A pull station was activated on one of the hotel floors.
