Sandman is a chain of hotels headquartered in Vancouver, BC. They have 45 hotels in Canada, and 4 in the United Kingdom. This particular hotel is located in Red Deer, Alberta. It was built in 2000, and renovated in 2013. The fire alarm system is original.

The building is protected by an Edwards EST2 addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. The system runs EST's Signature-series addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances

All common area notification appliances but one are General Signal MB10-24 motor bells (10" gong) on Edwards 403-5A-R strobe plates (15cd). The pool area has an Edwards MB10-24 motor bell (10" gong) on the same strobe plate as a deficiency replacement. The guest rooms have Edwards 683-1CR silenceable mini-horns (red, wall-mount) and Edwards 202-5A-T remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 15cd).
