Best Western is a chain of hotels headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. This particular hotel is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It was built in 1999, and the fire alarm system is mostly original.

System Specifications

FACP

The hotel is protected by an EST Quickstart QS4 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located at the main entrance. This panel was installed in the 2010s, and replaced an EST2. The system runs EST’s Signature-series addressable protocol, and does code 3 in alarm.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are from EST’s “Integrity” line of products. Most areas have EST 757-5A-T horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15cd). The guest rooms have EST 202-8A-T remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 110cd), along with Edwards 683-1CR silenceable mini horns.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270 Signature-series addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

None noticed, but there are likely EST SIGA-PS Signature-series addressable photoelectric smoke detectors.
