Richmond Square is a midsized shopping plaza located at 3915 51 Street Southwest, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The plaza contains Save-On-Foods, Homesense, and GoodLife Fitness. The plaza opened in 1978, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in the 2000s. Note: This page does not cover the Canadian Tire store. See that page here: Canadian Tire (Richmond Square).

System Specifications (2000s-present)

FACP

The building is protected by a Mircom FX-2000 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located at the GoodLife entrance. The system runs Mircom’s CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Annunciators

There is a Mircom RAX-LCD annunciator paired with a Mircom RAX-1048TZDS annunciator in the Homesense entrance vestibule. Both annunciators are mounted in a Mircom BB-1002 enclosure.

Notification Appliances

GoodLife

All notification appliances are System Sensor P2RLA horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, bilingual lettering, set to 15cd).

Homesense

All notification appliances are Mircom FHS-400-WW horn/strobes (white, wall-mount, set to 15cd). These were installed in 2020.

Pull Stations

Homesense has Mircom MS-401AP addressable single-action pull stations. All other areas have Mircom MS-401AD addressable single-action pull stations.

The building is fully sprinklered, and there are no detectors publicly visible.

There are Mircom MIX-M500MA addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
