CF Chinook Centre

From FireAlarmPedia

Chinook Centre is the largest indoor shopping mall in Calgary. It is owned by Cadillac Fairview, the same company that owns Market Mall. The mall was built in 1960, renovated in 1999, expanded in 2010, and the food court was once again renovated in 2019.

System Specifications

FACP

The main fire alarm panels are EST3 (addressable), installed in 2019. It replaced an older EST3 networked system from around 2002, due to the old system having 90 troubles, 23 supervisories, and 11 monitor troubles. It was so problematic that the piezo in one of the annunciators died from sounding so frequently! The current EST3 is voice evac, and labelled GE, new old stock as the GE logo was from 2011-2013.

Notification appliances

The main notification appliances are EST 757-5A-SS25W "Integrity" (white) speaker/strobes. The newer wing has EST "Genesis" G4F-S2VM (white, wall, FIRE marking) speaker/strobes and EST G4F-S2 (white, wall, FIRE marking) speakers. In some areas, there are EST "Integrity" 964-7A-4RW speaker/strobes.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

Most pull stations are EST SIGA-270P, the 2010 wing has the 2000s EST logo. The skywalk expansion SIGA-270P pulls have the current EST logo. The 1960 and 1980 parts have Edwards 270-GAO with the old E shield logo, the only pulls to remain from an OLD system.
