The Approach Hotel is a hotel in Panorama Mountain Resort, BC. It is located at 2040 Summit Drive, and consists of two buildings. This page will cover Building A, and was formerly the South Wing. It was built in 1982 as Pine Inn and renovated in 2022 to become the Approach Hotel. The fire alarm system survived the renovations, and only most of the pull stations are original, with the rest of the system being installed in the late 1980s.

System Specifications (1982-present)

FACP

The building is protected by a GE FireShield Plus conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the lobby, and is specifically model FSP1004G (10 zones) and has the DACT installed. It replaced an Edwards 2280 in 2011. The system coding is likely temporal.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10" gong)

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

Most pull stations are the original Edwards 274-111 conventional pull stations; one is stamped "ORIGINAL". ALTO has Edwards 270-SPO conventional pull stations, installed in the 2000s after a renovation.

Automatic Detection Devices

All smoke detectors are Edwards 6250C ionization smoke detectors. The heat detectors are Edwards 281C rate-of-rise/fixed-temperature heat detectors.
