Fish Creek Recreation Complex

From FireAlarmPedia

The Fish Creek Recreation Complex is a recreation centre in Shawnessy, SW Calgary. It houses Cardel Rec South, The Calgary Public Library, Bishop O'Byrne High School, and the Shawnessy YMCA. The facility was built in 2002, and expanded in 2012. The current system is from 2012, but almost all original devices still remain.

System Specifications

FACP

The fire alarm panel is a Siemens FireFinder XLS. The main panel is at the Cardel Ice entrance. It replaced the original Cerberus Pyrotronics MXL in 2012 due to the expansion, and the MXL not having enough capacity to fulfill that. The system is two-stage, and likely does slow march time in first stage, and code 3 in second stage.

Notification Appliances

The main notification appliances in the 2002 wing are Cerberus BDC-10 (rebranded Wheelock MB-G10-24) motor bells on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plates, rebranded by Cerberus Pyrotronics. The 2012 addition has Siemens SFM24-6 motor bells on Siemens ST-MC-RETRO-R-B (rebranded bilingual Wheelock RSSP-24MCW) strobe plates. Outside the entrance of Bishop O'Byrne High School, there is a Cerberus Pyrotronics BDC-10 motor bell.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations consist of a mix of Cerberus MSI-30B in the 2002 parts, and Siemens HMS-2S as replacements in the 2002 parts, and main in 2012. Both models are addressable and two-stage.

Automatic Detection Devices

The smoke/heat detectors are likely from the Siemens FirePrint lineup, however, none were noticed.
