North Mount Pleasant Arts Centre is an arts centre located at 523 27 Ave NW, Calgary, AB. It was originally built in 1913 as a school called West Mount Pleasant Bungalow, and the building’s use changed over the years. The building became the art studio in 1985, and was expanded and renovated in 1995. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 2007, while the notification appliances were installed in 1995.

FACP
The building is protected by a Mircom FX-2000 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Mircom’s CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is continuous.
The FX-2000 replaced an addressable EST ESA2000 in 2007.
Notification Appliances
All common area notification appliances are Wheelock MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes (10” gong, 1.5cd).
The main floor mechanical room has EST 882-2B remote horns (red, wall-mount).
The basement mechanical room has EST 892-2B horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 1.5cd).
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
All common area pull stations are Mircom MS-401AD addressable single-action pull stations.
The mechanical rooms have Edwards 270-SPO conventional pull stations, wired to Mircom MIX-M501MA addressable modules. These pull stations were left over from the ESA2000.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are Mircom MIX-5251RBA addressable thermal rate-of-rise heat detectors throughout the building.
In the crawlspace and at the top of each stairwell, there are Mircom MIX-2251BA addressable photoelectric smoke detectors.
All detectors are mounted on System Sensor B710LPA bases.
