Royal Tyrrell Museum

Royal Tyrrell Museum is a paleontology and dinosaur museum located at 1500 N Dinosaur Trail, in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada. It is Canada's only museum exclusively showcasing prehistoric life. The museum opened in 1985, and received total fire alarm system upgrades in 2003 and 2016.

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the lobby. It is equipped with the LCDXL1 display and an ENVOY graphic annunciator. The system runs Edwards' Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are EST "Genesis" G1R-HDVM horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, set to 15cd), mounted on EST G1RT-FIRE trim plates; others are not mounted on trim plates.

The Cretaceous Gardens have Edwards WG4RN-HVMC weatherproof horn/strobes (red, no marking, set to 60cd).

For outdoor notification, there is an EST CS405-7A-T (red, 15/75cd) weatherproof remote strobe by the main entrance.

There are EST SIGA2-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in some areas, mounted on SIGA-SB bases.

There is also a sprinkler system.

Modules

There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.

There are also EST SIGA-CR relay modules serving various purposes.

The building was protected by a Siemens MXL addressable fire alarm system. The panel was located near the main entrance. The system ran Siemens' FirePrint addressable protocol, and was configured for two stage operation. The alert signal coding was 20BPM, and the alarm signal was temporal.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances were Siemens U-MMT-MCS-W-B (white, bilingual, wall-mount, multi-candela) multi tone horn/strobes. They were likely set to the horn tone.

All pull stations were Siemens MSI-30B addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

None noticed. There was a sprinkler system.

Above the outdoor strobe, there is an Edwards "Adaptabel" 333D single-stroke bell (6" gong), left over from the original Edwards 6500 system. It is disconnected.
