The Claresholm General Hospital is a hospital located at 221 43 Avenue West, in Claresholm, Alberta, Canada. The hospital opened in 1972, and was expanded in 1992 and 2023. The fire alarm system was fully upgraded in the 2010s.
System Specifications (2010s-present)
FACP
The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the CACF room on the main floor. The system runs Edwards’ Signature addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. The alert signal is 20BPM, and the alarm signal is temporal.
Annunciators
There are Edwards EST3-LCDANN annunciators with Edwards LCDXL1 displays in the main entrance vestibule and at all nurse’s stations.
Notification Appliances
The original building and 1992 expansion have Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells (6” gong).
The 2023 expansion has System Sensor SSM24-10A motor bells (10” gong) mounted on Edwards 403-7A-R strobe plates (15/75cd).

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in most areas, and there are EST SIGA-HRS addressable fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in most storage rooms and washrooms.
The 2023 expansion has Edwards SIGA-OSD addressable optical smoke detectors and Fire Detection Devices CR-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors, wired to Edwards SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules.
All addressable detectors are mounted on Edwards SIGA-SB bases. There are EST “SuperDuct” SIGA-SD addressable photoelectric duct smoke detectors in some areas, with EST SIGA-LED remote indicators mounted below each detector on the drop ceiling.
