Halifax Stanfield International Airport is the largest airport in Atlantic Canada. It serves the entire province of Nova Scotia. It opened in 1960, and was expanded in 1976, 1994, and 1998. The airport was possibly renovated following the 1998 expansion, although this is unconfirmed. The fire alarm system is from the 2000s.

FACP
The building is protected by a Simplex 4120 networked fire alarm system. All nodes are Simplex 4100U addressable fire alarm panels; one node is located by the parkade tunnel. The system runs Simplex's IDNet addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The system is configured for two-stage operation, however the messages and/or tones are unknown at this time.
Notification Appliances
Departures Hall
The audible notification appliances are a mix of Simplex 2902-9311 remote speakers (white, ceiling-mount, 8") and Simplex 2902-9313 remote speakers (white, wall-mount, 4"). The visual notification appliances are a mix of Wheelock RSS-24MCW-FR remote strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) and Wheelock RSS-24MCC-FW remote strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 15cd); both are ceiling-mounted.
Atrium
There are Wheelock E70-W remote speakers (white, wall-mount) mounted about 30 feet high behind the shelved plastic plants.
Arrivals Area & Parkade
All notification appliances are Wheelock ET1010-R vandal-resistant remote speakers (red, wall-mount) with Wheelock RSS-24MCW-FR remote strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) mounted below them.

All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9004CA addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are Simplex "TrueAlarm" 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in some areas, mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.
Modules
There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
There are Simplex 4090-9002 addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
EOLs
There are Simplex 2081-9040C end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits. [[]
