Portland Place is a business centre located at 2600 Portland St SE, Calgary, AB. It consists of three buildings. This page will cover Building 3000, which consists of Zyn, Casterland, The Beach YYC and Furniture Connection. It was built in 2001, and the fire alarm system is mostly original.
System Specifications (2001-present)
FACP
The building is protected by a Notifier NFS-320C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main electrical room, located at the rear of the building. The system runs Notifier’s CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal. This panel replaced a Notifier AFP-200C.
Notification Appliances
All notification appliances are System Sensor “SpectrAlert” P2415A horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 15cd, set to electromechanical).
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
Most pull stations are Notifier MPS-950B conventional pull stations.
Some areas have Tyco/Grinnell MS-401GR conventional pull stations as deficiency replacements.
All pull stations are wired to MMX-101A addressable modules, located directly behind each station.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are Notifier CPX-551A addressable ionization smoke detectors at the top of stairwells, mounted on System Sensor BX-501 bases.
There is a Notifier FSP-851A addressable photoelectric smoke detector at the top of one stairwell installed as a deficiency replacement, mounted on a System Sensor B210LPA base.
The air handling units have Notifier DHX-502A duct smoke detector housings with CPX-551A addressable ionization bases.
There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.
Modules
There are Notifier MMX-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
EOLs
There are Notifier EOL-CR end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
