Quality Inn is a chain of budget hotels owned by Choice Hotels. The chain is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, and has locations globally. This particular hotel is located at 30 Clark Blvd, Brampton, Ontario, and was formerly a Comfort Inn property. The hotel opened in 1989, and was last renovated in 2013. The fire alarm system is partially original.

System Specifications

FACP

The hotel is protected by a Mircom FA-1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown, but has been confirmed by an annunciator. This panel replaced the original panel in 2013, but the model of the original panel is unknown. The system coding is likely continuous.

Annunciators

There is a Mircom BB-1002 annunciator enclosure at the main entrance, with two modules in it. One is a Mircom RAX-1032TZDS main annunciator module with common controls, and the other is a Mircom RAX-1048TZDS 48-LED annunciator display module.

Notification Appliances

There is a large mix of notification appliances throughout the hotel, all of which are bells.

Most areas have Mircom BL-6 motor bells (6” gong).

There are also several Mirtone 74303 vibrating bells (6” gong), which are original.

There are two Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells (6” gong).

The following 6” motor bells as were installed as deficiency replacements:

  • Notifier KMS-6-24VDC
  • Notifier KMS-6-24A
  • Wheelock MB-G6-24.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

95% of the pull stations are Mirtone 73303 conventional single-action pull stations.

There is one Edwards 270-SPO conventional pull station as a deficiency replacement.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are System Sensor 1451A 2-wire conventional ionization smoke detectors throughout the hotel, as well as some FDD CR-135 fixed/rate-of-rise heat detectors.

EOLs

There are Mirtone 7906 end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
