The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology is a trade school located in Calgary, Alberta. This page will cover the main parkade, which also has the Coho Commons Field at the top. It was built in 2009, and the fire alarm system is original.

System Specifications

FACP

The parkade is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main sprinkler room. The system runs EST’s Signature addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The messages and/or tones are unknown at this time, and the strobes are synchronized.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are from Edwards’ “Integrity” line of products.
The main parkade has Edwards 757-7A-SS70 speaker/strobes (red, wall-mount, 70V) mounted in groups of two throughout the parkade.
There are Edwards 757-1A-R70 remote speakers (red, wall-mount, 70V) for extra sound coverage in the parkade, mounted in the same method as above.
The corridors, stairwells and other areas have Edwards 757-7A-SS70W speaker/strobes (white, wall-mount, 70V).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

The parkade is equipped with a monitored sprinkler system. Therefore, no detectors exist.

Modules

There are EST SIGA-Ct1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.

EOLs

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
