Spring Gardens is a roads maintenance facility owned and operated by the City of Calgary. The facility is located at 840 32 Avenue NE, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This page will cover Building B, which is a vehicle maintenance and storage garage. The building was built in the mid to late 1970s, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in the 2000s; the main FACP was upgraded in 2022.

System Specifications (2022-present)

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards EST4 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located at the rear entrance. The system runs Edwards’ Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
This panel replaced an EST QuickStart QS4 in 2022.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Edwards “Integrity’ 757-8A-T horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, 110cd).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are EST SIGA-HRS addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors throughout the building.
There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors at the top of each stairwell.
All detectors are mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases.

EOLs

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all signal circuits.
