The Spy Hill Waste Management Facility is a waste management facility and landfill owned by the City of Calgary. It is located at 11808 69 St NW, Calgary, AB. This page will cover Building C, which is the scalehouse at the entrance of the landfill. It was built in 2012, and the fire alarm system is original, with parts replaced as deficiencies occur.

System Specifications (2012-present)

FACP

The building is protected by an EST iO64 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located at the entrance. The system runs EST’s Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances

There are two notification appliances. They are EST “Genesis” G1R-HDVM horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, set to 15cd).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are mostly EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors.
There are also EST SIGA2-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors installed as deficiency replacements.
All detectors are mounted on SIGA-SB bases.

EOLs

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all signal circuits.
