The Rimrock Resort Hotel is a luxury 4-star hotel located at 300 Mountain Ave, Banff, AB. It is owned by Fairmont Hotels, and is near the Banff Upper Hot Springs. The hotel was originally built in 1905, and was rebuilt in 1993. The fire alarm system is original, with parts replaced as deficiencies occur.

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100+ addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown, but is likely located in the security office. The system runs Simplex’s MAPNET II addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice-evacuation. The configured for two-stage operation. The tones and/or messages are unknown at this time.

Annunciators

There is a Simplex 4603-9101 LCD annunciator behind the front desk.

Notification Appliances

All common area notification appliances except for one are Simplex 2902-9314 speakers (8” ceiling-mount, round, 25V).
There is an EST “Integrity” 964-1A-8RW speaker (8” ceiling-mount, round, 25V) in the cafe as a deficiency replacement.
Each guest room has a Simplex “LifeAlarm” 2902-9734 speaker (beige, flush-mount).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations except for one are Simplex 2099-9905 conventional two-stage pull stations. These are wired to Simplex 2098-9739 addressable monitor modules, behind each station.
There is a Simplex 4099-9004CA addressable two-stage pull station in the pool area as a deficiency replacement.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Simplex 2098-9201 photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on 2098-9652 addressable bases.
There are Simplex 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors mounted on 4098-9792 bases as deficiency replacements.

Modules

There are Simplex 2098-9739 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.

EOLs

There are Simplex 2081-9018C end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
