The University of Calgary is a public research university in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This page will cover the Math Sciences building, located at 612 Campus Place Northwest. The building opened in 1969, and the upper two floors were completed in 1972. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 1987, and the FACP was replaced in September 2020.

System Specifications (1987-present)

FACP

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES hybrid-addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The messages and/or tones are unknown at this time.

The 4100ES replaced a Simplex 2120 in 2020.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Simplex “LifeAlarm” 2902-9734 remote speakers (white, wall-mount, 25V).

Pull Stations

The pull stations are a mix of the original Simplex 4251-1 and 4251-20 conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 addressable bases.

EOLs

There are Simplex 2081-9040C end-of-line resistor plates on all conventional and signal circuits.
