The Calgary Fire Department is the fire department serving The City of Calgary. This page will cover Station 16 and the Highfield Administration Building, located at 4125 11 Street SE, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building was built in 1968, and extensively renovated in 2018. The fire alarm system was upgraded as part of the 2018 renovation.

FACP

The building is protected by a Simplex 4007ES addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the alarm room on the main floor. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Annunciators

There is a Simplex 4606-9202 annunciator in the main entrance vestibule.

Notification Appliances

All indoor notification appliances are Simplex “TrueAlert” 4906-9127 horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
For outdoor notification, there is a Simplex 4906-9131 weatherproof horn/strobe (red, wall-mount) outside the main entrance.

Pull Stations

The pull stations are a mix of Simplex 4099-9001 and 4099-9004 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in most areas.
Areas such as mechanical rooms, closets, washrooms, kitchens, and the basement have Simplex 4098-9733 addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors.
All aforementioned detectors are mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.
There are Simplex 4098-9755 addressable photoelectric duct smoke detectors on all RTUs and MUAs.

Modules

There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the kitchen suppression system, the generator run/trouble contacts, and the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are Simplex 4090-9002 addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
There are Simplex 4090-9116 addressable isolator modules on the SLC.

EOLs

There are Simplex 2081-9040C end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler, generator, kitchen suppression and signal circuits.
