Fairview Community Centre is a community centre located at 8038 Fairmount Dr SE, Calgary, Alberta. It was originally built in 1972 as the Fairview Arena, and was expanded in 1976 to add the community centre. The building was then renovated in 2007, and the arena was demolished in 2023 when the roof collapsed. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 2007, with NA upgrades in 2023.

FACP

The building is protected by an EST QuickStart QSC conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main lobby vestibule. The system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Edwards “Genesis” G1AVRF horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, FIRE marking, set to 15cd). These were installed in 2023, replacing Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10” gong) mounted on EST “Integrity” 403-5A-R strobe plates (15cd).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

Most pull stations are Edwards 270-SPOB conventional bilingual single-action pull stations.
There are some Edwards 275-C111 conventional single-action pull stations, leftover from the previous system.
There is one Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull station as a deficiency replacement.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Edwards EC30U-3 conventional photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the second floor.
The arena lobby and some other areas have Edwards C2M-PD conventional photoelectric smoke detectors.
Mechanical areas have System Sensor 5601A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors.
Some mechanical rooms have Edwards 284B-PL conventional 194°F fixed-temperature heat detectors.
There is a Potter CF-200W conventional 200°F fixed-temperature heat detector in the kiln room.
