Northland Professional Centre is a 5-story low-rise medical/office building located at 4600 Crowchild Trail NW, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building was built in 1978, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in 2012, with a notification appliance upgrade taking place in 2017.
System Specifications (2012-present)
FACP
The building is protected by a Siemens FireFinder XLS addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the lobby. The system runs Siemens' FirePrint addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
Notification Appliances
Most indoor notification appliances are System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" P2RA horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to various cd).
Areas requiring additional visual coverage have System Sensor SRA remote strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 30cd).
For outdoor notification, there is a System Sensor SRKA weatherproof remote strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 75cd) outside the main entrance.

All pull stations are Siemens HMS-S addressable single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are Siemens HFP-11 addressable multisensor smoke/heat detectors throughout the building, mounted on Siemens DB-11 bases.

There are Siemens EL-300C end of line resistor plates on all signal circuits.

FACP
The building was protected by a Simplex 4207 conventional fire alarm system. The panel was located in the lobby. The system coding was continuous.
Notification Appliances
Most notification were the original Simplex 4080 vibrating bells (10" gong). There was an Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bell (10" gong) in the lobby as a deficiency replacement. The bells remained on the current system until 2017.

All pull stations were Simplex 4251-20 conventional single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There were Simplex 4255-1 rate-of-rise/fixed temperature heat detectors located throughout the building.
