The Crowfoot Library is a public library in Crowfoot, NW Calgary. It is part of the Calgary Public Library, and it was built in 2004, but the current system is from 2014. All of the notification appliances are original.

System Specifications

FACP

The fire alarm control panel is a Notifier NFS-320C (addressable) installed in 2014. It replaced a Simplex 4010 from 2004. The panel is located at the entrance, in between two book return slots.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances are original from 2004. They are System Sensor "SpectrAlert" P1224MC (red, wall) horn/strobes. Though they are wall orientated, they are on the ceilings for unknown reasons. These are the only devices that remained from the system change.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All of the pull stations are Notifier NBG-12LX (addressable). They are flashing green due to the FlashScan technology in ONYX series panels. Installed 2014.

Automatic Detection Devices

The smoke detectors are Notifier FSP-851 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors with FlashScan, also from 2014.

Former System Specifications

FACP

The fire alarm panel was a Simplex 4010 (addressable). It was installed in 2004 when the library was built. The system was replaced in 2014 with a Notifier NFS-320C system.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances were System Sensor "SpectrAlert" P1224MC horn/strobes. They were installed in 2004 when the library was built, and still remain there on the Notifier system today. It is unknown why the installers went with System Sensor horn/strobes.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations were Simplex 4099-9001 addressable, single-action T-bars. Removed in 2014 when the Notifier system was installed due to not being compatible.

Automatic Detection Devices

The smoke detectors were Simplex 4098-9714 "TrueAlarm" addressable, photoelectric smoke detectors. Removed in 2014 when the Notifier system was installed due to not being compatible.
