North Hill Centre

From FireAlarmPedia

North Hill Centre was the first shopping mall in Calgary, Alberta. It is located off of 14 Ave NW. The mall spans two floors, with professional offices (dental, pediatric and doctor clinics) on the second level. The mall was built in 1958, expanded in 1973, and then majorly renovated in 2000. The fire alarm system is from the 2000 renovation, however the panel is currently unknown at this time.

System Specifications

FACP

The fire alarm panel(s) is/are most likely a Notifier NFS2-3030C, judging by some smoke detectors, however this is unconfirmed as the panel is not visible.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances are mainly System Sensor "SpectrAlert" P1224MC (red, wall, multi-candela) horn/strobes, which were installed in 2000 after the mall was expanded and renovated. The Dollarama has System Sensor "L-series" PC2RLA (red, ceiling, bilingual) horn/strobes installed in 2018/19. The Winners has System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" PC2W (white, ceiling) horn/strobes which were installed in 2018, and were new old stock because the SpectrAlert Advance series was discontinued in 2017.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are all Notifier NFM-950B, which were installed in 2000.

Automatic Detection Devices

The smoke detectors are mainly System Sensor 1412 ionization smoke detectors which were installed in 2000, but there is one Notifier FSP-851 addressable photoelectric smoke detector on the second floor.
