‘’’’Westside Recreation Centre’’’’ is a rec centre located in Signal Hill, in Southwest Calgary. It houses a large waterpark, a lap pool, a leisure arena, an NHL-sized hockey rink, and many more features. The building was built in 2000, but received a panel upgrade in 2017.

System Specifications

FACP

The facility is protected by an EST3X addressable two-stage fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance, and replaced an EST Quickstart QS4 in 2017. The Quickstart likely had a CPU fault, so it had to be replaced. The system runs on EST’s Signature-series protocol, and does 20BPM march time in first stage, followed by code 3 in general alarm.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10” gong) on Edwards 202-5A-T strobe plates (15cd). These are original.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P Signature-series addressable two-stage pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are EST SIGA-PS Signature-series addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the facility.
