Too busy slamming my desk as a result of me mixing up a CTrain station with a city that does not have any reason to exist, and calling Crowfoot Dalhousie. Anybody know any good doctors who specialize in assisted suicide?)

The Scotiabank Saddledome is an indoor arena in SE Calgary, near Stampede Park. It is home of the Calgary Hitmen, the Calgary Flames, and the Calgary Roughnecks. It was built in 1983 as the Olympic Saddledome from 1983 to 1995, Canadian Airlines Saddledome from 1995-2000, the Pengrowth Saddledome from 2000-2010, and finally its current name since October 2010. The current system is from late June 2013 after the Calgary floods in 2013. Most of the pull stations, and some notification appliances are original.

The Saddledome was scheduled to be demolished in 2024, but due to the deal falling through, the Saddledome will be staying for years to come!

System Specifications (1983/2013-present)

FACP

The arena is protected by a two-stage EST3 addressable fire alarm system. There are two panels, and both were installed in June 2013, after an older EST3 was damaged by the water of the floods, and before that replaced the original Edwards 6500 with voice-evac. The main panel is located at the main security office, next to the staff/media entrance. There is an auxiliary panel at the other loading dock, which is near the zamboni entrance to the ice. The system is two-stage, and is voice evac. The EST3 prior to the one now had a chime on march time as general alarm.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances in the hallways and some areas of the seating bowl are very rare Edwards "Adaptatone" 5547-15R (red) re-entrant speakers made by Atlas Sound, as well as Atlas Sound VT-157UCR re-entrant speakers. Most of these speakers are original, but some are from circa 1994 with Edwards/GS logo. The concourse and club level and suites have Enforcer ceiling speakers (E86CW drivers on ECB8R grills, most likely with ET10T model transformers.) normally seen as paging speakers in stores and schools, installed in 1994. One has been replaced with an EST "Integrity" 965-1A-8RW (8", round, 70V) ceiling speaker in the 2000s-2010s. There are also EST "Genesis" G1-HDVM (white, wall, no FIRE) horn/strobes down in the event level and where the panel is which were installed in 2013 along with the panel, possibly replacing some Edwards horns that were damaged by the water. The arena itself has Atlas-Soundolier GA-30T paging horns used for the fire alarm, installed in 1994 since they have the Atlas-Soundolier logo. They are hanging from the catwalk.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are mainly the original third-generation Edwards 270-GAO (no FIRE ALARM, classic shield) two-stage pull stations. Some have their "PULL IN CASE OF FIRE" painted over, and some have been replaced with many variants, such as a rare variant that has the newer shield, 270A-SPO font and no FIRE ALARM at the top. The concourse has Edwards 270-GAO installed in 1994, some replaced. Other replacement pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable pull stations from 2000s onwards, mostly from 2013 in the lower parts due to flooding.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are smoke and heat detectors throughout the building, but only one has been spotted. The club level stairwell has a System Sensor 5601A conventional 135°F heat detector, which likely replaced an Edwards 280B-PL heat detector due to a recall.
