‘’’Sandman’’’ is a Canadian hotel chain headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. This particular hotel is located in Lethbridge, Alberta. The hotel opened in 1978 as the Lethbridge Lodge, under private ownership. It became a Sandman Signature property in the 2010s. The fire alarm system was installed in the 2000s.

System Specifications

FACP

The hotel is protected by an EST Quickstart QS4 addressable fire alarm system. The panel model and location are unconfirmed, but the model is based on the initiating and signaling devices. The system runs EST’s Signature-series addressable protocol, and does code 3 in alarm.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances in most of the hotel are EST “Genesis” G1R-HDVM horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd). Some are mounted on G1RT-FIRE trim plates, and some are flush-mounted with no trim plate. One area of the hotel has a horn/strobe missing the strobe assembly. The guest rooms have EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors mounted on SIGA-AB4G sounder bases.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the hotel. In most areas, they are mounted on their default bases, but in the guest rooms, they are mounted on EST SIGA-AB4G sounder bases.
