Lowe's Home Improvement is a chain of home improvement stores aka hardware stores throughout Canada. This particular location is in Crowfoot, AB. It was built in 1995 as Rona, which is also a hardware store. It was remodeled in late 2017 to become a Lowe's, with the fire alarm system not being affected. The current fire alarm system has been in use since 2014. Most pull stations except for one, and most notification appliances are original. The system is managed by Troy Life & Fire Safety.

System Specifications

FACP

The store is protected by a Notifier NFS2-640C conventional fire alarm system. The main panel is located behind the front customer service desk at the entrance. It replaced an EST 6632 from 1995, likely after the CPU failed. This panel has multiple Notifier XP6-MA zone modules in it to make it conventional.

Notification Appliances

The main notification appliances are Wheelock MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes, which are original. There is one outside under a ceiling by the garden center and is very weathered out, with the strobe yellow and faded. The other original notification appliances in the store are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells, and can be seen kind of mixed in. The garden center's plant area has Edwards 439D-10AWC bells with EST "Integrity" 202-5A-T strobes under them, also original from 1995. There are a few bells and bell/strobes replacing failed bells and bell/strobes. There are two Notifier KMS-10-24A motor bells on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plates, one beside the panel, and one by the checkouts. At the back of the store by aisle 43, there is a Wheelock MB-G10-24 motor bell on a Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plate that replaced a failed bell/strobe before 2007. At the back of the store in the "cut shop", there is an unknown 10" bell on a strobe plate like the Simplex 4903-9101, however it is unknown as there are only employees allowed back there. Recently in 2018, approximately 4 Wheelock MBS-G10-24 bell/strobes were replaced with Simplex 2901-9724 motor bells on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plates. One on the ceiling is facing downward.
