Nakiska is a ski resort located at 2 Mount Allan Drive, in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada. This page will cover the day lodge, which opened in 1986. The fire alarm system is partially original, and devices have been replaced as deficiencies occur.

System Specifications

FACP

The building is protected by a Mircom Series 1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located at the main entrance, and is in the original Edwards Custom 6500 cabinet, which it replaced around 2007. The system coding is likely temporal.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Edwards 881-D remote horns (red, flush-mount).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations but one are Edwards 274-111 conventional single-action pull stations. There is an Edwards 270-SPOB conventional single-action pull station by the lockers as a deficiency replacement.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are System Sensor 1412B conventional 2-wire ionization smoke detectors throughout the building. Some areas have System Sensor “i3” C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors as deficiency replacements. These were installed in 2007.
