Southcentre Mall is a large indoor shopping mall located at 100 Anderson Road Southeast, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The mall is owned by Oxford Properties, and has over 160 stores. The mall originally opened in 1974, and was extensively renovated in 2009. The fire alarm system for the main mall was installed in 2009, and the FACP was replaced in 2020. The Sporting Life system was installed in 2016. The Hudsons Bay system was installed in the 2000s. The Decathlon/Winners system was installed in 2022. All systems are networked into each other to trip when one goes into alarm, and were installed due to the mall’s panel not having enough capacity.

FACP
The building is protected by a Siemens Desigo Life Safety Modular addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the east entrance vestibule. The system runs Siemens’ FirePrint addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. First stage coding is 20BPM, followed by temporal in general alarm. The two-stage timer length is five minutes. The Desigo replaced a Siemens MXL in 2020.
Notification Appliances
All notification appliances are Siemens MTH-MC-R-B horn/strobes (red, wall-mount). These are set to the horn tone. Some areas have Siemens U-MCS remote strobes (red, wall-mount) above the ceiling, however the purpose and status of these is unknown.

Automatic Detection Devices
There are Siemens FDBZ492-HR duct smoke detectors with FDO421 photoelectric heads on them throughout the mall. The professional offices and elevator shafts have Siemens FDOOT441 addressable multisensor smoke/heat detectors.
