St. Peter School is a school located at 150 Westwood Road in Guelph, Ontario. The age of the building is unknown, and the system is likely not original.

System Specifications

FACP

The school is protected by a Simplex 4010 addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown, but the panel model has been confirmed by the annunciator at the main entrance. The system is primarily addressable, however the conventional initiating devices are wired into Simplex 4090-9101 zone adapter modules, which simulate a conventional zone. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Annunciators

There is a Simplex 4606-9101 LCD annunciator at the main entrance.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances are a large mix of bells, all made by Simplex. Most areas have Simplex 2901-9723 motor bells (6” gong). The gymnasium has these bells on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW-FR strobe plates, which are set to 15 candela. The older portion of the building has Simplex 2901-9711 vibrating bells (6” gong).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are a mix of Simplex 4251-20 and Simplex 2099-9754 conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are two types of smoke detectors seen in the school. The older portions of the building have Simplex 2098-9110 2-wire conventional ionization smoke detectors, and the newer portions have Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors.
