Mic Mac Mall is a shopping mall located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. It houses several anchor stores, such as Hudson’s Bay and Decathlon. It opened its doors in 1973, but the fire alarm system is not original.

System Specifications (2000s -present)

FACP

The mall is protected by an EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The panels have not been spotted, but have been confirmed by the size of the building, and the compatibility with the devices. The system runs EST’s Signature addressable protocol, and is two stage. The system does 20BPM march time in first stage, and temporal in general alarm.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Edwards bells. Most areas have Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10” gong) behind metal grilles. The non-primary corridors have the same Edwards 439D-10AWC bells, but surface mounted. There is one Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bell (6” gong) near entrance 1. The Decathlon store has Edwards MB10-24 motor bells (10” gong), installed in 2020.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270PB addressable two-stage, bilingual, single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the mall.
