The Lake Bonavista Community Association is a small recreation centre located at 1401 Acadia Drive Southeast, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building opened in 1968, and the fire alarm system is partially original.
System Specifications (1968-present)
FACP
The building is protected by a Siemens TXL-1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the facility operator's room, and is in an Edwards 6500 cabinet. The system coding is march time (120BPM).
The TXL-1000 replaced a Tyco/Grinnell Series M-1000 in 2022, which in turn replaced the original Edwards Custom 6500 in the 2000s.
Annunciators
There is a Mircom RAM-216 16-LED annunciator at one of the entrances.
Notification Appliances
Most notification appliances are the original Edwards "Durabel" 6100D vibrating bells (6" gong).
Some areas have Simplex 2901-9723 motor bells (6" gong) as deficiency replacements.
There is an Edwards "Adaptahorn" remote horn in the dressing room hallway, however the model and purpose are unknown at this time.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
Most pull stations are the original Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.
Many areas have Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull stations as deficiency replacements, as well as one Notifier NFM-950B conventional single-action pull station in the small arena.
The player's entrance to the large arena has a Siemens M61-B conventional single-action pull station as a deficiency replacement.
Automatic Detection Devices
None noticed. The building pre-dates codes requiring heat or smoke detectors and sprinkler systems.
