SAIT, also known as the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology is a polytechnic institute in Calgary. This page will cover the Campus Center, which has the Wellness Centre, the Trojans office, and the Orpheus Theatre just to name a few. This is the only building on campus that does not have voice evac capabilities. The building was built in 1981, and most pull stations and bells are original.

System Specifications (1981-present)

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is brand new, is located in the hallway near the arena, and replaced an EST QuickStart QSC from around the 2000s, and before then replaced the original Edwards 6500. The system coding is temporal.

Annunciators

There is an EST 3-6ANN Six Position Annunciator at the entrance.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances mostly consist of the original Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells (6" gong), installed during construction. There is one Edwards MB6-24 motor bell (6" gong) as a deficiency replacement. The bells are all behind metal grills.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are mostly the original 2nd generation Edwards 270-SPO (classic shield, no FIRE ALARM) pull stations. There is one newer 270-SPO in the hallway in the basement to the arenas, installed as a deficiency replacement.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Edwards EC30U-3 photoelectric smoke detectors, likely installed when the QuickStart QSC was.
