The University at Albany is a public research university with campuses in Albany, Rensselaer and Guilderland, NY. The building is protected by a Simplex 4100U addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the Fire Command Center on the first floor of the entrance. There are no visible annunciators in this building. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
Notification Appliances
All notification appliances are Wheelock AS-24MCW horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, multi-candela), installed throughout, including single-toilet bathrooms. There are no outdoor notification appliances.

Automatic Detection Devices
There are Simplex 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors located throughout, mounted on 4098-9792 bases. There are also beam detectors located in the atrium area, model number to be confirmed. There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.
