Southland Leisure Centre

From FireAlarmPedia

Southland Leisure Centre is an indoor leisure centre in the Palliser neighborhood of SW Calgary. It is known for its wave pool and big indoor water park. The facility was built in 1983, but the fire alarm system is not original. The facility was renovated in 2008, and the system is from then.

System Specifications

FACP

The fire alarm panel is a Siemens MXL. It was installed in 2008 after renovations. The fire panel is not visible, but the annunciator is at the entrance.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances mainly consist of Siemens MBDC-10 motor bells throughout the facility, and a few Siemens MBDC-6 motor bells in the changerooms and some areas. There is one in the pool area, near the for additional sound on the water park, for additional sound coverage (which has lost its label). These bells were installed in 2008. There is one Wheelock MB-G6-24 motor bell in the men's changeroom, left over from the previous fire alarm system (it has the pre-2007 logo). There is a Siemens SFM24-6A motor bell by the splash area in the pool area, as a replacement for an MBDC-10 that stopped working.
