Canadian Tire is a Canadian chain of department/hardware stores. This particular store is located at 38 McLeod Ave, Spruce Grove, Alberta. The store opened in 1992, and the fire alarm system is mostly original, with parts replaced as deficiencies occur.

System Specifications (1992-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100U conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the automotive entrance vestibule. The system coding is continuous.
The 4100U was installed in the 2000s, replacing the original Simplex 4002.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Most notification appliances are Simplex 2901-9722 motor bells (10” gong) mounted on Simplex 4903-9101 strobe plates (red, 4.75cd).
Some areas including all exits have Simplex 2901-9712 vibrating bells (10” gong) mounted on the aforementioned strobe plates.
The following bell/strobes were installed as deficiency replacements:

  • Mircom BL-10A motor bell (10” gong) mounted on Amseco RSB24-153075 strobe plate (15cd)
  • Mircom BL-10B motor bell (10” gong) mounted on original strobe plate
  • Simplex 2901-9724 motor bell (10” gong) mounted on Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plate (red, set to 15cd).

All pull stations are Simplex FM-950B conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 4098-9688 duct detector housings on all air handling units, with Simplex 4098-9601 conventional photoelectric heads.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 2081-9040C end-of-line resistors on all zones, sprinkler and signal circuits.
