Colwood Elementary School is an elementary school located at 3000 Wishart Road, in Colwood, British Columbia, Canada. The school opened in 2002, and the fire alarm system is original.

System Specifications (2002-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by an Edwards EST2 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main electrical room. The system runs Edwards’ Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding is continuous.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There is an EST ENVOY graphic annunciator at the main entrance.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Most notification appliances are Edwards MB10-24 motor bells (10” gong).

There was one General Signal MB10-24 motor bell (10" gong) in the mix, but has since been replaced with an Edwards variant.

There is a Mircom BL-10B motor bell (10" gong) installed as a deficiency replacement.

There are Edwards “Genesis” G1R-V15 remote strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, 15cd) in all classrooms.

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are EST SIGA-IS addressable ionization smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases. There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
